SUMMARY:Celebration 2026 - NWC Annual Meeting
DESCRIPTION:“Forward in Mission” captures a shared conviction that the Church is not called to stand still\, but to move faithfully into what God is doing next.\nGrounded in the unchanging gospel and attentive to the leading of the Holy Spirit\, this theme invites us to look beyond what has been and step courageously into God’s purposes for our communities and our world. As we gather as a regional church\, we do so with gratitude for the past\, clarity in the present and hope for the future—committing ourselves anew to participate in God’s mission with faith\, unity and expectancy. \nRooted in Jesus\, we continue the work of renewing lives and communities by starting and strengthening churches\, investing in the next generation and developing missional leaders. This is the Lord’s church\, and we gather with that same assurance—committed to equipping the saints for ministry\, as Ephesians 4:11–12 reminds us\, “so that the body of Christ may be built up.” \nMoving forward in mission is not a departure from our story\, but its faithful continuation. With gratitude for where God has brought us and confidence in our calling\, we ask together: now what? How is God inviting us forward in mission for the sake of the gospel? \nPlease join us for the 142nd Annual Northwest Conference Celebration\, hosted by First Covenant Church in Willmar\, MN\, April 23-25\, 2026. \nWith joy!\nKara Stromberg\, Superintendent \nRegistration\nRegister Online – In-Person Participation \nRegister Online – Online Participation \nNEW in 2026: Church Planting Lunch\nThis is open for anyone looking to hear more about starting new churches and developing leaders for the harvest mission all around us. We will connect\, pray\, and talk about how you and your church can be part of planting new churches. Join us at Noon on Friday!

SUMMARY:Adventures in Leadership 2026
DESCRIPTION:Adventures in Leadership (AIL) is a week-long leadership intensive for Northwest Conference high school students who are ready to be stretched—spiritually\, personally\, and as leaders. Designed for students with growing leadership responsibility and potential\, AIL helps them learn how to lead with faith\, humility\, courage\, and clarity as followers of Jesus. \nThe week begins at Adventurous Christians on the Gunflint Trail. In community\, students engage in worship and leadership learning\, and reflect on their strengths\, values\, and emerging sense of call. They also learn essential wilderness skills\, including camping and canoeing. \n \n  \nMid-experience\, students enter the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness for a four-day canoe expedition. With guidance from experienced wilderness staff and youth ministry leaders\, students take on real leadership—making decisions\, navigating challenges\, caring for one another\, and learning when to step forward and when to serve. Each day includes time for reflection\, conversation\, and prayer\, connecting lived experience with faith and leadership. \nAIL is not about producing a certain kind of leader. It is about helping students understand how God has uniquely formed them—and how leadership rooted in servanthood takes shape in real life. \nStudents return home with deeper self-awareness\, greater trust in God\, strengthened resilience\, and relationships that continue long after the experience ends. \nTo find the application packet\, church leader letter\, parent/guardian letter\, and AIL flyer\, scroll down to the Downloads section at the bottom of this page. Please submit your application\, references\, and a $100 deposit by Monday\, Feb. 9\, 2026. We will let you know your acceptance status by Wednesday\, March 4\, 2026. If you are not accepted\, your deposit will be refunded. \nIf you have any questions\, please contact Ginny Olson\, Director of Next Gen Ministry. \nPlease note that AIL includes significant physical\, emotional\, and spiritual challenges. Keep this in mind as you consider nominating someone or applying. \n \n  \nApplication Information\nThe application packet\, church leader letter\, parent/guardian letter\, and AIL flyer can be found in the Downloads section at the bottom of this page. \nApplications include: \n\nStudent application\nReferences\n$100 deposit\nDeadline: Monday\, Feb. 9\, 2026\nNotification: Wednesday\, March 4\, 2026\n\nDeposits are refunded if a student is not accepted.
