“From Maintenance to Mission: Re-envisioning the Rural Church for a Changing World” is the 2026-27 NWC Rural Webinar Series. Rural churches are changing, and so are the communities around them. The message and mission of the church remain the same, but simply keeping the church going is not the goal. The goal is to move the church forward in faithful mission.
Across three sessions, the series looks at what that means in practice: the changing rural context, the posture and methods that context calls for, and what faithful, forward-looking ministry can look like in a rural setting today.
Each session runs virtually over the Noon hour. Sessions stand on their own, so you’re welcome whether or not you joined the earlier ones.
The second session of “From Maintenance to Mission” builds on the October conversation about our changing rural context, turning from what is changing to how churches might respond. Speaker and full session details coming soon.
