Exploring Call Retreat brings together participants across generations

Thirty-two people from across the Northwest Conference gathered in Duluth, MN, Oct. 24-25, for the first Exploring Call Retreat, a two-day experience designed to help participants discern God’s call to ministry—whether vocational, co-vocational or lay.

Attendees ranged from young adults to those nearing retirement, creating a rich mix of experiences and perspectives. Through personal reflection, small-group conversation and shared worship, participants explored how God has been at work in their stories and how they might be invited to serve in new ways.

When asked to name a highlight, one participant shared, “Making the space to consider my path forward and talking this through with others. Life is otherwise very ‘noisy,’ so having the time set aside to really consider this was helpful.”

Another attendee reflected, “I don’t know where to start! Everything was so well organized and thought out. I loved each session and how they highlighted different areas of my heart.”

The weekend offered both clarity and encouragement for those seeking next steps in ministry—and affirmed that the call of God continues to stir across every generation. Stay tuned for details about the next Exploring Call Retreat!
