Stories from God’s Harvest: Garden City Church
“The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the Harvest to send more workers into His harvest field” (Luke 10:2).

Here is a “harvest story” from NWC church planter Chris Aldrich (Garden City Church, Bloomington, MN):
One of the things I encourage people to do is find a place that they already visit where there can be more intentional with their time and presence. To visit that same place every week, at the same time. For me—that’s been Target in Edina. I used to go every Friday at 11 a.m. and go through lane 15 for checkout.
Every week I would talk with a lady who would be working in that lane. Over the course of time, we’ve developed a friendship which has led to a curiosity about God. She’d start to ask about Bible verses that would help her in a situation she was facing, and I’d write them down while in the lane. Eventually I asked her if she’d be open to a Bible Study.
Since then, I’ve been running a Bible Study in the Edina Target every Thursday morning with her. Because of this, there has been a curiosity from her co-workers, and most of them are immigrants. I have befriended many and have invited them over to our house for a meal. God is stirring something there, and I’m excited to see what happens! My next step is to invite others from the house churches into that space with me.
Jesus is walking in the harvest field—let’s follow Him!
