Stories from God’s Harvest: Jasmine Anderson
“The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the Harvest to send more workers into His harvest field” (Luke 10:2).

We have been praying Luke 10:2 every day, asking the Lord of the Harvest for more workers. And God is answering those prayers by calling women and men into ministry.
Below is a story from Jasmine Anderson
I’ve known since I was 10 that my purpose in life is to create moments where people meet Jesus and can respond to his invitation to relationship. In the decades since then, I have been on a journey of learning who God is, learning who I am and learning what good works God has prepared for me. For the majority of those years, I have wrestled with an intense desire for full time ministry while never feeling certain what form that could take.
This past October, I was at a silent retreat to meet with Jesus as my family entered a ministry transition. As I was walking and talking with Jesus, I saw a large cross and immediately heard, “Will you take up the cross of being a pastor?”
Honestly, I bawled for a very long time. This was not a ministry role I had wanted or even considered an option for me. But I have committed to saying “yes” whenever Jesus offers an invitation. Since October, my desires and thoughts about pastoral ministry have shifted—for example, I have discovered I love preaching! I start seminary in the fall and am finding so much joy in the journey as I take it one step at a time.
Please keep praying for more leaders, pastors, and church planters—God is sending more workers into the harvest (including you and me). Do you have a story to share? We would love to hear it! Email Scott Nelson.
